Delbert Lee Halferty Sr., 78 of Indiana, (formerly of Ligonier and Derry) passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at his home.

He was born on January 14, 1939 in Latrobe the son of the late Delbert G. and Susan (Hicks) Halferty.

Lee retired from Morgan Advanced Ceramics (formerly Glass Beads) of Latrobe.  He was a member of the Derry Rod and Gun Club, Greek Club and the Slovaks.  Lee enjoyed anything outdoors: gardening, landscaping, and hunting and fishing with his grandchildren.  He always had a story or joke to tell, and loved dancing and oldies music.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Dell Halferty in July 1997.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Florence (Flack) Halferty; his daughters, Kathy (Brian) Kuzemczak of Derry, Jennifer (Tom) Lentz of Shelocta and his son Randy of Ligonier; grandchildren, Brian (Angela) Kuzemczak of North Andover MA, Tyler Kuzemczak of Derry, Sara (Corey McDowell of Ligonier, Jordain, Julian and Jazmin Lentz of Shelocta, Peyton Halferty of Ligonier; his two great-grandchildren (and namesakes) Harper Dell McDowell and Rome Geoffrey Dell Kuzemczak.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-7:30 at time of service at the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Ave, Derry.
