Theodore "Ted" Burger, 93, of Derry died Sunday February 12, 2017 in Excela Latrobe Hospital Hospice. He was born April 12, 1923 in Elco, PA a son of the late Andrew and Anna Chermak Burger.

Ted was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church of Derry where he was as an usher and greeter. He was a USArmy World War II veteran and had retired from Derry Westinghouse where he had worked as a bricklayer. Ted was a lover of cars and was one who would always help his friends. In years gone by he loved to go dancing with his wife, making jewelry, cutting his grass and any other handyman activities he could. He was a Triple A instinctive archer. He was a member of the Derry Rod & Gun Club, charter member of Twin Maples, Slovak Club, Greek Club, Derry Ukes, Millwood Sportsman and the Latrobe B.P.O.E. #907 (where he loved to play golf).

In addition to his parents Ted was preceded by his loving wife of 67 years Helen Marie Burik Burger, his sister Anna Barron and two brothers Elmer A. and Albert Burger.

Ted is survived by his loving children; Linda Block (William) of Jeannette, Richard T. Burger (Cheryl) of Latrobe and Jeffrey Alan Burger (Chris) of McDonald. Four grandchildren; Erick Burger, Justin Burger (Rhonda), Lisa Altschaffl (Keith) and Natalie Katich (Randy). Five great grandchildren; Corinne, Zoe, Evan, Hunter and Hailey. Several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry. A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30am at St. Joseph Church, Derry with Father Stephen C. West as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery.

The Derry -Latrobe Honor Guard will conduct a military service Thursday at 10:00am in the funeral home.
