David Leary Obituary

David A. Leary, 54, of Derry died Wednesday October 2, 2019 in Twin Lakes Rehabillitation Center in Greensburg.

He was bornMarch 14, 1965 in Latrobe a son of the late Thomas and Charlotte Clawson Leary.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, George and James Leary.

David was a member of the F.O.E. #1612, Rod and Gun Club and the Ukranian Club all of Derry. He liked to stop at Tommasinis Tavern to see all of his friends there and loved being one with nature, hunting and fishing. He liked helping with "kids" day at the Rod and Gun farm, being "up on the hill" with his family and friends joking, laughing, setting fireworks off for the kids, eating all the "goodies", drinking and having a good time. He also liked to gamble and was pretty lucky when he did. Dave had a great sense of humor and was a good and kind hearted person. He was loved and was "our Dave" and he will be greatly missed.

Dave is survived by a daughter Tara and a son Billy both of New York. Two brothers; Thomas Leary of Missouri and Matthew Leary of New York. Two sisters; Elinor Poole of New York and Kimberly Hansen of Arizonia. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friends Judy of New York, Terry and Karin Beeman and family of Derry and all his many "family" of friends of the Derry Area.

A memorial gathering will be held Saturday October 19, 2019 from 3-4pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry. Following the service the life celebration will continue at the Derry F.O.E. #1612, 149 East First Avenue, Derry.

A special thank-you to all the staff at Arnold Palmer Cancer Center, Twin Lakes Rehab Center, Excela Health homecare and hospice for their care of Dave and making his journey peaceful.
