Elizabeth M."Liz" Thomas, 84, of Ligonier died Friday Feb. 8, 2019 in Excela Westmoreland Hospital. She was born February 5, 1935 in Wilpen a daughter of the late Charles and Anna Miglas Kittey.
Liz was a member of the Waterford United Methodist Church. For many years she was a school bus driver for the Ligonier Valley School District. She had a great sense of humor, enjoyed people, swimming, gardening and watching the Hummingbirds.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Milton Thomas, four sisters; Anna Gross, Marge Topeka, Rose Lape and Sylvia Kvochko. Three brothers; Thomas, Charles and George Kittey.
Liz is survived by her children; Charles E. "Chuck" Thomas (Buffy) of Jeannette, Mark M. Thomas (Janet) of Pikeville, NC and Marsha Hall (Jay) of Latrobe. A brother Steve Kittey (Becky) of Latrobe, three sisters; Irene Zajdel (Bill) of Greensburg, Kay Roddy (Lowell) of Ligonier and Mary Nicholson of O'Fallon Missouri. Six grandchildren; Michelle Hootman Hixon, Diana Holland, Jeramiah, Joshua, Kaitlin and Mark Thomas. Eleven great grandchildren; Evan, Serena, Connor, Austin, Lacie, Amelia, Ansley, Seth, Bella, Mady and Magean. One great great grandchild Mason. Her fur babies; Valentine, Phoebe and Gus. Numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 11am in the Waterford United Methodist Church with the Reverend Bruce Keen officiating. Interment will be made in the Ligonier Valley Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Waterford United Methodist Church.
