Jay Chamberlain Obituary

Jay W. Chamberlain, 90, of Latrobe died Sunday April 15, 2018 at his home. He was born May 2, 1927 in Derry a son of the late Raymond Charles and Evelina Hofmann Chamberlain.

Jay graduated early from Derry Boro High School where he was very active in sports and joined the Navy during World War II. He had worked for Kennametal retiring after 40 years of service and had been a bartender at the Rolling Rock Club for many years. Jay was a high school sports fan attending football and basketball games as long as he could. He was a hard woking family man who loved his family and spending time with them.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Emma Jane "Janie" Chamberlain (whom he missed dearly), a son Roger Scott Chamberlain, 4 brothers; Charles W., Frederick, Raymond Jr. and Edgar Chamberlain. Three sisters Eleanor E. Sisak, Clara Ross and Evelyn Geckle.

Jay is survived by his loving children; Craig Chamberlain (Anna) of Greensburg, Jayne (Douglas) Kalp of Wilmington, NC, Jeri (Allan) MacQuarrie of Charlotte, NC, Deborah (Ronald) Bobnes of Pittsburgh, Nancy (Paul) McElravy of Denver, CO, Robert Chamberlain (Lisa) of Denver, Co, Simon J. Chamberlain (Monica) of Latrobe and Amy ( Paolo) Petrillo of London, England. 13 grandchildren; Craig Chamberlain Jr., Allan (Jen) MacQuarrie, Matthew Kalp, Joshua, Michael (Kayla), and Andrew McElravy, Kristina, Jay and Luke Chamberlain, Emily Shipley (Jacob), Jacob Ferlin (Erica), Jayne Forester (Tyler) and Lillian Petrillo. 12 great grandchildren; Caitlin, Chloe and Cooper Chamberlain, A.J. MacQuarrie, Kendall, Makenna, and Landon McElrary, Grayson and Ellie Ferlin, Andrew and Olivia Shipley, and Emma Forester. A brother Richard Chamberlain of The Villages, FL and a sister Mary Piper of Derry. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue Derry. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 11am in the Unity Chapel (Everyone please go directly to the Chapel) with the Reverend Clark Kerr officiating. Interment will follow in the Unity Cemetery.
