Billie Smithley Obituary

Billie Sue Smithley, 69, of New Florence, died Thursday April 20, 2023 at Beacon Ridge in Indiana. She was born May 25, 1953 in Johnstown a daughter of the late Clarence and Bridget Silk Taylor.
Sue had worked as a seamstress for Bestform in Johnstown and also for private clients. She had a very uplifting and happy personality along with being a very devoted christian, wife, mother and grandmother. Not only was she the family historian, but a person who enjoyed stock car races, singing and spending time with her grandchilden and other family members.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald J. "DJ" Smithley on September 4, 2014 and a grandson Aiden Figard.
She is survived by her son Ronald Smithley (Katja) of Irwin, her daughter Mindy Figard (Jeff) of New Florence, her twin brother Robert Taylor of Bolivar, her sister Linda Garland of Indiana, her three grandchildren; Ryan Smithley, Colton and Delaney Figard, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 1pm at the Fort Palmer Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. J. Paul McCracken officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairfield Cemetery.
