Joseph F. Piotrowski, 74, of Ligonier, passed away July 8, 2021 in Excela Westmoreland Hospital. He was born June 17, 1947 in Philadelphia a son of the late Joseph F. and Anastasia (Jones) Piotrowski.
Joe was a firm believer in God and country. He was an avid fisherman, a collector of stamps, marbles and old records. He is a proud US Army veteran having served in Vietnam in the 23th Infantry "Americal" Division.
During his time serving his country he was awarded two Silver Stars, two Bronze Stars, three Purple Hearts and numerous other medals and commendations for his service.
Joe is survived by his wife Linda of 38 years, six children Joseph Piotrowski of Alexandria VA, Michael and wife Jean Piotrowski of Columbia MD, Stacey and husband Bill Hazlett of Greensburg, Kristy and husband Sam Pastor of Ligonier, Lindy and husband Ed Berton of Ligonier and Lara and Matt Swartz of Ringtown PA; eleven grandchildren Wade, Jacob, Krysteffer, Brooke, Hannah, Camron, Isabella, Vivian, Paxton, Liam and Evie; one brother Stephen Piotrowski two sisters Denise Folweiler and Joyce Camer.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister Anastasia.
Family will receive friends Tuesday July 13 in the McCabe Funeral Home, Ligonier from 2 to 5 pm. Military honors will be presented by the Ligonier Veterans Honor Guard in the funeral home at 5pm. Interment will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
