Rebecca Cain Obituary

Rebecca Morrow Cain, age 96, of Ligonier, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, March 17, 2023, while recovering from an injury sustained at her place of residence several weeks earlier.  Rebecca was born in Greensburg, PA in 1926 to her mother, Imogene Strickler, and father, Frederick Morrow and was a proud member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution, Ligonier Chapter. Becky spent much of her adult life out West before returning to Ligonier over 20 years ago. She worked for the Defense Department during WWII as a linesman’s mate, checking commo gear at the top of ship’s masts and running switchboard crews for Western Electric. She also produced manuscripts for several Christian publications as well as volunteering at the American Red Cross and several Christian radio stations. Becky was an amazing mother and role model for her two boys, before they left home in 1972 to join the U.S. Army, during the Viet Nam conflict.

Becky was predeceased by her mother and father, her brother, Shannon Keltz Morrow, her former husband, Charles Dixon Cain, and an infant son, David, who died shortly after birth.. She is survived by her two sons, Charles Cain and Mark Cain. Becky had five granddaughters, many great grandkids, and dozens of Pennsylvania kinfolk.

The family would like to especially thank Becky’s cousin, Ms. Janice Brubaker of Greensburg, PA, for the love, caring and kindness she gave to Becky during her years in Ligonier, as well as to her many friends in the Bethlen Community.

Rebecca’s remains were cremated, at her direction, and a Memorial Service has not been planned. She asked that any memorial contributions made on her behalf be donated to the Ligonier Public Library or the Ligonier YMCA

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
