Shirley L. Fetzer

Shirley Reed Fetzer, 85, of Ligonier, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2023,   at her Ligonier Gardens residence.   Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Walter E. Fetzer on February 10, 2023.  Born November 22, 1937, in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Russell E. and Grace A. (Fry) Reed. 
Shirley was a 1955 graduate of Bellefonte High School after which she was employed at Penn State University.  After many years of raising her family Shirley was employed at Kaufmann's Dept Store, Greensburg PA until she retired in October 1999.She was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church and the Ladies Bowling League at Ligonier Lanes.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, tole painting, time spent with friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 
She is survived by two daughters, Wendy S. Fetzer (Mike Grimes), of Centerville, OH, and Kelly L. (Robert) McCoy of Ligonier, and a son, Kevin L. (Jill) Fetzer, of Spring Hill, TN; five grandchildren: D. Michael (Amanda) Grimes, Grant W. (Enya) Fetzer, Hannah G. Grimes, Melanie L. Henry and Reed A. Fetzer; and five great-grandchildren: Kora B. & Colm J. Fetzer, Declan M. & Darcy R. Grimes, and Beau W. Henry. 
Interment, at Ligonier Valley Cemetery, will be at the convenience of the family with the arrangements under the direction of McCabe Funeral Home, Ligonier. A celebration of her life for Walter and Shirley will be held at a future date.
