Stephen C. Bell

Stephen C. Bell, 75, of Ligonier, died peacefully Thursday June 16, 2022 at UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital as the result of an automobile accident.
He was born April 5, 1947 in Hagerstown, Maryland the son of the late Frederick W. and Consuela Kerns Bell.
Stephen graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1965 and then from the University of Maryland for his undergraduate work and then WVU for his doctorate in geology. He was a Championship Irish Dancer, held a Black Belt in Judo and enjoyed field work and creating topographic maps in his profession.
He was a Geologist and had been a professor at Towson State and Frostburg State Universities.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca "Becky" Horner Bell, his sister Jennifer Mangus and her husband Thomas of Yukon, Oklahoma, nephews Greg Mangus (Katie) and Andrew Mangus (Rhema), and one great nephew, Everett.

Friends will be received Tuesday June 21, 2022 at his home beginning at 2pm.
