Susan Elizabeth Holowaty, of Ligonier, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 3, 2022. She was born November 4, 1949 a daughter of the late Francis and Nell Mitchell Bacon and raised in Ambridge. Susan studied fashion design and was an accomplished seamstress, but she chose to devote her life to raising her three children and faithfully serving the Lord by teaching preschool children in Sunday School for over 40 years. Even during recent health struggles, Susan continued to minister by faithfully praying
for friends and strangers, and sending daily messages of encouragement to the many who were blessed to be her friends. She was an extraordinary woman who loved God and loved others well.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters Diane and Hollie Bacon, and Cynthia Bowan. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years Thomas C. Holowaty, her three children and their spouses, Jill and Jason Wallin; Melanie
and Jason Schmidt; Timothy and Stephanie Holowaty; and her cherished grandbabies; Alexander, Allison, and Jackson Wallin; Danica and Sydney Schmidt; and Evelyn, Thatcher and Ethan Holowaty. Additionally, she is survived by her brother Joseph Bacon, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends will be received Sunday, November 6th at McCabe Funeral Home, 144 East Main Street, Ligonier, from 11 am to 2 pm and from 6 to 8 pm. A private burial will be made in Ligonier Valley Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers,
