Thomas B. (Tommy) Clark, 92 of Ligonier, died Thursday July 15, 2021 after a long illness. He was born June 1, 1929 in Ligonier a son of the late Albright Shupe and Elizabeth Hood Clark.
Frail in body and mind, but with a strong faith and willingness to work, he would be seen about town on his way to work pushing a wheelbarrow, a lawn mower or a snow shovel. Through the generosity of his neighbors and members of the community, he accumulated enough savings to start to pay for his care when he was no longer able to stay in the home on Loyalhanna Street where he had lived for the first 80 years of his life. When those funds were depleted, Bethlen Home continued to care for him.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Ellsworth Clark in 1988.
He was a lifelong member of the Laughlintown Christian Church, which will be holding a brief memorial service for Tom at a later time.
He will be interred beside his parents in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Laughlintown.
McCabe Funeral Home, 144 East Main Street, Ligonier was in charge of arrangements.
